Camfrog is a video chat and instant messaging client that was created by Camshare in October 2003. It allows people to meet others worldwide in video chat and find partners in chat rooms. Camfrog users with broadband internet connections can host and moderate their own video chat rooms. The Camfrog Server software allows users to host video chat rooms based on user interests. In 2008, Camfrog introduced Virtual Gifts. On October 19, 2010, it was announced that Paltalk acquired Camfrog. In 2015, Camfrog announced the introduction of a new software, called Ribbit, which allows people to meet others by swiping through live videos.

- Camfrog for Windows and Mac (the most recent Mac version 2.9.3277 now works with Mac OS 10.11 and up with very limited capabilities. The "Extreme" and "Gold" license types (see below) are not available for the Mac platform. Despite claims to the contrary, Camfrog seems to have abandoned the Mac platform. The last update for Mac OS was in 2014. The Windows version is updated often with new capabilities and features added on a regular basis.)

License types
- Free: Users who do not have a paid account will be restricted to using limited features of the site. Free users will be able to only view one video. The username will be displayed as black as opposed to green (Pro), purple (Extreme), or Gold (Extreme Plus).
- Pro: Users who purchase the Camfrog Pro account will be displayed as a Green nickname with unlimited of videos. They will be also be able to access all the features of the site, with the exception of multiple rooms simultaneously, changing their nickname, being able to view the top cams list, and sending/receiving VIP Messages.
- Extreme: The extreme feature allows the user's nickname to become Purple and have access to all the additional features of Pro & Free and also be able to join up to two rooms at the same times. Users are able to change their nickname once every three months. They will also be able to view the top cams list and able to send up to FIVE VIP messages to anyone who isn't on the Privacy Mode (circumventing the protection offered by Privacy mode, which blocks instant messages from any user who is not on a user's "friends" list).
- Gold: The Gold is similar to Extreme but the nickname will be turned to GOLD. The Gold user is the highest level of functionality on Camfrog, and the user will be granted access to up to 5 rooms at the same time. They will also be able to send up to twenty-five VIP messages to anyone who is on the Privacy mode.
- Locate User: This feature allows user to find any friend what room are they in. This is feature can be disabled in the setting.
- File Sharing: Pro users can send files to each other via Camfrog Client.
- Snapshot: Snapshot are images, videos, or audio that can be sent from one user to another from their webcam.
- One on one webcam: This allows user to private webcam/audio to one other person without to be in the public chat room.
- Profile: Camfrog allows user to create their online profile for users who are age from 16 to older. Those users who 13–15 years old will not have their online profile.
- Video Chat Rooms: Camfrog client includes the ability to access Camfrog hosted and user hosted video chat rooms. Users have the ability to create their own room with different themes. User rooms have different rules than Camfrog hosted rooms, but must still follow the Camfrog's Terms of Service. Video Chat Rooms have various of listed such as All ages (13+), Deaf (Microphone is default disabled), Audio Only (Webcam is default disabled), and 18+ (Users who under 18 will not be seeing those listed and will not be able to access 18+ chat-rooms.
- Parental Control: Camfrog parental controls allow you to add feature restrictions to other Camfrog user accounts or block other user from using Camfrog completely. Parental control allows patents to modify permission such as Video viewing, Broadcast video, Audio listening, Broadcast audio, Text chat, and Instant messaging and one on one connections. It's also allowed for blocking new nickname registrations.
- Virtual Gift: Camfrog Gift is a virtual gift that can send to any Camfrog users. It also allows users to send a private message to any user on Camfrog even their status is set privacy modem and still can see your message.
- IM Catcher: This feature allows the software to catch all unwanted messages from unknown users that are not in your contact list and without setting Privacy mode.
- Operator Tool: This operator tool to allow room moderator to facilitate the chat room with many different commands.
- Games: Initializing the one and one connections video chat and playing games such as Tic-Tac-Toe or Four-In-A-Row with friends.
- YouTube Party: This feature allows users to share YouTube videos in the chatroom
- Stickers: Express the feeling of yourself in the chat room or instant message with various of themes.
